Upon completion of the internship, students return to the Darla Moore School of Business to focus on their business elective courses during their final fall and spring semesters. The electives taken during these semesters allow students to specialize in an area of interest such as finance, marketing, or operations management. At this time, students are also engaged in their full-time job search. For the final two semesters, students enroll at the Columbia campus for a minimum of 21 credit hours of electives.
Students may elect to take one of their final semesters at a partner institution where the Moore School has established an IMBA exchange agreement. These are great opportunities to continue to learn about business in-country and, at some institutions, further your language proficiency. Most of the schools hold MBA-level courses in English, but others are in the home-country language. There is a formal process that you will go through to apply to this program as all exchange agreements carry with them certain restrictions. Credits earned on exchange are applied toward the student's program of study. For a current list of schools, see our Business School Exchange Programs.
