Center for Advancement of Accounting
In March 2004, the Center for the Advancement of Accounting (CAA) was created with the assistance of the Friends of Accounting (FAD) to increase awareness and promote private support of the School of Accounting. The overall mission of the Center is consistent with the School of Accounting's education mission, which includes:
- assisting in providing technology upgrades for faculty and student use.
- engaging in education program development.
- sponsoring events and programs featuring professional and academic speakers.
- providing reference materials for departmental and student use.
In addition to the items listed above, gifts to the Center support faculty research and academic travel.
In January 2014, the first Board for the Center for the Advancement of Accounting was established. The following individuals serve on that Board:
Stan Smith, Director, Center for the Advancement of Accounting and Lecturer, School of Accounting
Andrew Newman, Assistant Professor, School of Accounting
Aaron Lawrence, Division Controller, Allied Air Enterprises
Nathan J. Bowser, Plant Controller, Hydraulics Group, Eaton Corporation
Robert Parsons, Chief Financial Officer, Mashburn Construction Company
Graham Houghten, II, President, Specialty Woodworks, Inc.
We would like to thank these individuals for their interest in and their dedication to the Center for the Advancement of Accounting, the School of Accounting, and its faculty and students.
If you have questions about the Center or wish to make a contribution, please contact the Center for the Advancement of Accounting director, Stan Smith, at 803.777.7408 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
