Free Tour of Sustainable Urban Farm

Net Impact invites YOU! That’s right YOU, to a Moore School Sponsored Event. Join your fellow business majors in an ALL EXPENSES PAID TRIP to Columbia’s Organic Farm CITY ROOTS. Come learn how City Roots has integrated its sustainable business model into the community.

What is it exactly that City Roots does? For starters it grows produce from compost collected all over Columbia. That’s right, completely organic, chemical-free Veggies that YOU have probably already enjoyed if you’ve ever eaten at the Gourmet Shop, El Burrito or any other of City Roots’ vendors. Come learn about a sustainable food system and find out how City Roots is responsibly looking towards the future both socially and financially.

All you have to do is show up! RSVP via the survey link below, and meet in front of Capstone dormitory Friday, October 22nd at 9AM. The Tour will last about an hour, and there will be time afterwards to ask questions, purchase produce, or get down and dirty with some of the 30 volunteers that work at the farm during the week. You’ll be back by 11AM, we promise. Bring closed-toed shoes, and clothes that are warm and which you are not afraid to get a little dirty! This is a limited seating MOORE SCHOOL EVENT. Only the first 50 RSVPs will have a spot on the bus.

The Farm is located beside Owens Field only a ten minute bus ride from Campus. Take advantage of this opportunity and come hang out with friends. Look forward to seeing you all soon. Have an amazing Fall Break.

With Highest Regards, Net Impact Exec Staff
