Community Service

Community Service

Community service is an integral part of the University community and student life here at USC. The University of South Carolina has been selected for the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for several years.

The designation highlights the hard work of faculty, staff and students in regards to community service activities. There are many ways that students can get involved in community service around the USC area. Service Learning

In addition to traditional community service opportunities, the University of South Carolina also offers service-learning opportunities. What is service learning?  It is a form of experiential education that, by design, connects the classroom to organized “real world” activities.  Integrating service learning into the curriculum encourages students to apply skills and knowledge learned in an academic setting to meet community needs.
