The Master of Accountancy (MACC) program is a natural extension of study for students who have completed an undergraduate degree in accounting. However, it is open to anyone who satisfies the school's admission standards regardless of their undergraduate major. The MACC program provides the opportunity to specialize in a particular field of accounting, complete technical competency for professional examinations while in school, and meet the specific educational requirements to qualify for the CPA designation in some states. Students who have not completed an undergraduate degree in accounting from an accredited college or university may need to take prerequisite courses as well as the program courses.
